The shoreline is moderately well developed with seasonal and year round homes, typical of ponds in York County. Areas of rocky shoreline, in addition to several shoals, provide good habitat for cold and warm water fisheries. Although the lake thermally stratifies during the summer months, a severe oxygen deficiency develops below the thermocline which seasonally limits habitat suitability for both cold water and warm water fisheries.
