Salt Fork Lake – is part of the Salt Fork State Park in Cambridge Ohio, approximately 1.5 hours from Columbus. Salt Fork is Ohio’s largest state park covering over 17,229 acres of recreational land and was voted in the top 10 of Ohio’s Top Attractions in 2015.

Lake / Beach / Marina – Salt Fork Lake itself is 2,952 acres and reaches a maximum depth of 35 ft. There are no horsepower restrictions and jet skis allowed, making this lake a top choice for boaters in the area. The lake is home to several species of fish including pike, muskie, and bass where catching is easier amongst the artificial reef placed along the north end of the lake. Visitors can also enjoy a 2500 ft beach, one of the largest inland beaches in Ohio that has a modern bathhouse and a snack bar. There are two full service Marina’s at the lake as well, Sugartree Marina and Salt Fork Marina, both offering fuel, repair, and winterizing services.

Offshore Amenities – There is not a shortage of things to do at Salt Fork, besides boating and fishing hunting is allowed in certain area including grouse, quail, turkey, rabbit, fox and muskrat among others. There is also 10 station walkthrough archery range. On top of that there is an 18 hole golf course, a miniature golf course and a driving range. For outdoor and nature enthusiasts there are 9 picnic areas available for public use as well as 14 separate hiking trails inside the park, part of those trails include a 19 mile trail for snowmobiling and a 12 mile trail for horses. And if all those don’t peak your interest there are still several playgrounds, basketball courts and of course a 1 acre dog park with lake access to allow your favorite fur-buddy to swim in the lake! If you are an avid camper the campgrounds have 192 camp sites all with 50 amp electric hookups, as well as 37 fully furnished cottages for rent with carious lake and forest views. There is also the Salt Fork Lodge for rent that overlooks the lake, and has 148 guest rooms available. The guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor pools, volleyball, basketball and shuffleboard courts, a sauna, a private 400 ft swimming beach, and boat launching and docking availability.

 

Nearby Activities – Visitors can also enjoy several local areas of interest including the historic Roscoe Village in Coshocton, as well as the Schoebrunn Village State Memorial, which offers a look at daily life for early settlers, and the Guernsey County Museum. There is also the Wolf Run State Park and several MWCD lakes nearby, such as Seneca Lake, that have boating, fishing and other outdoor opportunities.
