Knox Lake – is in Fredericktown Ohio, about 1 hour from Columbus and about 30 minutes from Mansfield. The lake was originally built as a reservoir and is considered to be one of the top largemouth bass fishing lakes in Central Ohio!

Lake / Marina – Knox Lake covers 469 acres of water with an average depth of around 12 ft or less, and a maximum depth of 24 ft near the dam. The lake does have a 10HP limit on the lakes but you can put a boat a boat in with a larger motor but must operate it at idle speeds the entire time. Although swimming isn’t allowed because of it’s reservoir status, it does have a full service marina that hosts their own division of the Ohio Mega Bass Tournament Trail.

Offshore Amenities – Although Knox Lake is known primarily for it’s fishing, especially largemouth bass, it does provide several picnic areas for public use.

 

Nearby Activities – Knox Lake is about 25 minutes away Snow Trails, a premium ski resort.  The Lake is also within driving distance to two public golf courses, Apple Valley Golf Course, and Pleasant Hill Golf, both 18 hole. If nature is more your thing, the Kokosing Lake Wildlife Area is right down with trails and campsites as well as Pleasant Hill, an MWCD park area with areas for camping, hiking, and hunting.
