This 718 acre, Oligotrophic lake is bordered by Hancock and Nelson. It is a cold/warm water lake that stocked by NH Fish and Game and you can fish for trout and/or salmon as well as other species mentioned below. Keene State College owns 400 acres of pristine wilderness on this lake. The property, which sits on a peninsula between Lake Nubanusey and Spoonwood Pond is called Cabot Preserve. It is only accessible by boat. You can enjoy the preserve daily from dawn to dusk but camping is prohibited.

It's located about 12 miles north of Peterborough, NH. Follow route 202 and NH 123 north. Take a left onto Hunts Pond Road. Take a right on Kings Highway and a left onto Boutwell Road which leads you right down to a launching area on the lake. Parking is at a premium especially on summer weekends.
