Lake Hiawatha is a private lake, approximately 70 acres, that is partly in Bellingham and partly in Blackstone. This quiet lake is known for its picturesque beauty and serene natural setting. Residents can enjoy swimming, boating, fishing (on a catch and release basis) and skating. No Gas powered motors are allowed on the lake. The Lake Hiawatha Association (which ownes the lake) charges a $50.00 annual membership fee which supports the de-weeding of the lake each summer. One of the highlights of this community is the Yard to Yard sale each September that attracts people from many of the surrounding towns. Residents and visitors enjoy a day of yard sales, raffles, dynamites, hot dogs, and family fun. There is a private beach on Lakeshore Drive for paid members of the Association.
