At 95 acres, Spring Lake is good size lake. As you head north from the ramp the lake opens up into a 1/2 mile long, 1/3 mile wide water body. Some of the shoreline, including the boat ramp, are in the RI DEM Black Hut Management Area, however much of the shoreline is not and is lined with houses and a town beach. Only non-motorized boats and boats powered by an electric motor are permitted. Nearest Town Center: Harrisville. Ecological, Cultural & Recreational Attractions: Black Hut Management Area is a 1548 acre state forest with various unmarked trails. At the other end of the lake from the boat ramp is a town beach with, according to the town website, "a full time lifeguard staff, along with a penny arcade, restaurant, ice cream building, pavilion, recreation hall for rentals, canoe rentals, paddleboat rentals, restrooms and hot/cold outdoor showers." Ramp Comments: The boat ramp is a cement plank ramp in good condition. The boat ramp is at the end of the southernmost arm. This is a site for launching boats from trailers. Boat ramps can normally be used to launch canoes and kayaks but please do your best to keep the boat ramp clear for boat trailers.

Directions: From Route 107, just east of Harrisville, head north on Steere Street for 0.6 miles and then turn right onto Black Hut Road. In 0.6 miles turn right to stay on Black Hut Road. Continue for another 0.2 miles; the road will wrap around an arm of the Spring Lake and then the boat ramp will be on the left, along with a small gravel parking lot. There is more parking in a second nearby parking lot.
