Pleasant Hill Lake

Located half way between Columbus and Cleveland in both Richland and Ashland counties, this man-made 850 acre lake offers some of the best recreational activities in northern Ohio.  Whether your interests include water or land based activities, Pleasant Hill can satisfy all or leverage the magnificent Mohican State Park located adjacently as well as Malabar Farms.  Also providing winter fun within a 10 minute drive are Clearfork Ski Resort and Snowtrails.

Water Amenities

Pleasant Hill absent of horsepower limitations enables endless watersport activities including: jet skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, and other water sports.  If it’s a more tranquil setting you prefer, the western third of the lake is managed as a no-wake zone.  This area provides the perfect setting for peaceful fishing, or wildlife life exploring by kayak or canoe.  Anglers enjoy searching for both large and small mouth bass, saugeye, or muskellunge to satisfy their trophy shelf while others enjoy catfish, crappie, yellow perch, and sunfish for dinner.   The lake also maintains beaches and offers two boat launches and a full service marina, boat and dock rental availability.

Land Exploration

If you feel more like staying ashore, the area boasts some of the best hiking, horseback riding, and mountain bike trails within the area.   Pleasant Hill offers many of its own trails and leverages the nearby Mohican State Park.  Within the park, you’ll find meandering trails through The Hemlock Gorge, woodland, and earthen dam trailheads.  Pleasant Hill supports over 400 campground locations for the novice to experienced outdoors man.  Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or a rookie you can “swing” by the challenging 18 hole par 3 Pleasant Hill golf course for more memories on shore.
