Norwich Lake, a 122-acre natural spring-fed lake is located a little over a mile north of Route 66 in Huntington. Average depth is 17 feet; maximum depth is 53 feet (comprised of a very large hole in the lower - middle part of the pond). The water is of excellent quality, fairly clear, and transparent to 12 feet. Aquatic vegetation is uncommon, due to the gravel and rock bottom. The shoreline is developed with summer cottages and year-round homes. Recreational use of the lake by swimmers, boaters, and fishermen is high throughout the summer season. There are 2 summer camps on the lake. The Norwich Lake Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to the enjoyable and safe use of Norwich Lake for a diversity of activities while aiding in the conservation and careful stewardship of the water quality and shorelines for future use. In doing so, the Association will actively engage in information exchange and collaborative efforts with its members, local organizations, and other interested individuals.
