Long Sought For Pond’s clean, spring-fed water has made it a favorite with area residents who are in the know about one of Westford’s best-kept secrets. The pond covers 105 acres and is more than 30 feet deep at its center. The Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife stocks the pond with trout in the spring and fall. The pond is experiencing some milfoil infestations lately, especially on the eastern end. Most of the shoreline is moderately developed with year-round homes, mostly along the west shore. A campground was formally along the north end but is now “Summer Village at the Pond”, a gated community featuring 275 new construction seasonal cottages, waterfront activities, pools, sports courts, community buildings and pastimes planned by an on-site recreation director.
