The upper side (62 acres) was dredged about 30 years ago and allows power boating (ramp at beach) and has an average depth of 10 feet and a maximum depth of 30 feet. The shallow, lower section (60 acres) is non-power boating only and has an average depth of 10 feet and a maximum depth of 20 feet. There are 2 public beaches (Peck Rd & Barbara Rd). Yearly winter draw-downs are employed by the town to help keep the lake weed free. The bottom of both ponds is predominately mud with rock outcroppings and transparency is approximately 4 feet. The entire shoreline is fairly heavily developed with a mixture of cottages and higher end homes. There’s an Elks Club on the shore that has many local activities.
